Jackson woke to the feeling of warm lips gliding against his right shoulder. He hummed deep in his throat and felt Sawyer’s arm tighten around him from behind.

“You up, Jackson?” Sawyer licked each word into his skin, stopping to press kisses against his sleep-warmed skin.

“I am now.” Jackson smiled sleepily, turning his head over his shoulder in hopes Sawyer would kiss his him.

Sawyer took the bait and captured Jackson’s lips. His morning erection twitched against his boxers when Jackson pushed back against him.

Jackson turned in Sawyer’s arms so they were face to face. “Good,” They kissed long and deep, their tongues getting reacquainted after hours apart. “Morning.” Sawyer kissed him again.

Jackson laughed, “Good morning.” He licked up the side of Sawyer’s neck and across his jaw before he licked out and over Sawyer’s lips. “You’re perfect, so damn perfect.” Jackson said.

Sawyer stiffened, seeing the wonder in Jackson’s amazing eyes and hearing the awe in his voice, “How can you say that? You don’t know what I look like.” He tried to pull away but Jackson wouldn’t let him go.

“I’m not a shallow man.” He said, the light in his eyes dimming, the look on his face serious. “I know your heart, Sawyer. Your kind and brave. Those are the things that matter to me, not the color of your eyes or a crooked smile.” He brushed a quick kiss against Sawyer’s damp lips. You’re perfect to me…and for me.”Jackson whispered the last few words, afraid to say it too loudly.

Sawyer shivered at Jackson’s confession. No one had ever called him perfect before. So much of modern pop culture was based on how you looked or dressed. Entire magazines were dedicated to this very thing. He knew Jackson wasn’t a shallow man; it was hard to believe he could have developed such strong opinions about a man he had never seen.

Jackson knew he had just blown it. He had never been good at relationships. What to say, when to say it. He usually opened his mouth and said whatever was on his mind. He knew he made a bad misstep when he felt Sawyer shudder. He pulled back and was surprised when Sawyer pulled him closer in a perfect imitation of what he had done earlier when he hadn’t wanted Sawyer to escape.

“Jackson.” He whispered against his lips. “You’re perfect too. You took in a stranger and made me feel welcome in your home. You promised to cure me and you’re working tirelessly to do just that. I mean it, you’re the perfect man.” Sawyer leaned forward and kissed Jackson, licking out at the seam of his lips until Jackson opened up for him.

Jackson sunk into Sawyer’s heat and felt himself start to relax again. “Gonna be a big day.” Jackson said when Sawyer was finished kissing the breath out of him.

“It is?” Waking up tangled in Jackson was surely a step in the right direction.

“Mmmm hmmm, I’m going to remember the article I was telling you about last night; the one about light and camouflage.
